Spring?

Today's temperature was 65 degrees. It was wonderful! Sadly, tomorrow is supposed to be 40s and rainy. At least rain means spring anyway. It also means mud and dirty shoes which I am fondly sick of. I am happy to see spring after a 2000 year polar vortex.

After all these months of unstoppable snowfalls, freezing temperatures and hard-to-see stuff, I am glad to see spring has finally come. It's like a coup formed by Jack Frost just to play tricks on people and it was up to a team of spring-loving freedom fighters to put an end to it.

The Nutsos that are the 80s

The Karate Kid Part 2 was on the Hub Network and boy was it stupid! There was this bad guy who you can tell was a bad guy by his slicked hair and dumb ponytail, some cheesy lines and this scene where some jerk breaks a special tree for some reason that wasn't explained to me. The only Karate Kid movie I've seen was the reboot with Jaden Smith, Jackie Chan and Chinese SpongeBob.

That's my gripe with some movies in the 80s, they're so corny! With the likes of the Don Bluth 80s fims, E.T, Tim Burton's Batman and the Breakfast Club being so successful, it means they didn't take being cheesyness seriously. Yes, NIMH and Batman was pretty dark, E.T was a tale of friendship and Breakfast Club was a teen movie, but at least they didn't end up being like KK2.

Miyamoto High secondary characters

Please note that these characters are from an idea of mine.

Principal Andrew Ross, based off of Andross. The origin-of-species obsessed principal of Miyamoto High. He believes that humans come from sperm in the ocean and then evolve into simians.

Superintendent Garrett Dorf, based off of Ganondorf. The tyrannical millionaire superintendent of Miyamoto High who uses fundraisers to get more money for his gold pool.

Mr. Duckman, based off of Scrooge McDuck. The janitor who is often seen giving advice to troubled students.

Dr. Wink Lyman, based off of Dr. Wily. The hyper-intelligent science teacher who claimed to be a college professor at Pong University. His lectures can last often from 10-20 minutes.

Sergeant Sean "Soldier" Danmore, based off of the Soldier. The military-like gym teacher who is rumored to a mighty fighter from World War II.

Writer's Block

I have an extreme case of writer's block. So to try and cure it, I'd like to explain a few ideas that have been locked in my brain for a while.

The first idea I have is a cartoon based off of Nintendo's Star Fox. Ever since The Super Mario Bros Super Show, Super Mario World and The Legend of Zelda, there was only one surviving cartoon based off a Nintendo franchise and that was Pokemon. Given that we haven't seen our furry final frontiersman since Star Fox 64 3D, I'd think a cartoon ougtha kick it up a notch. For a sci-fi epic starring funny animal characters, it'll make the right blend of space adventure and cartoon slapstick. Here's the cast of actors I would have for the characters.

  • Jason Biggs as Fox McCloud
  • Dante Basco as Falco Lombardi
  • Billy West as Slippy Toad
  • Tabitha St. Germain as Krystal
  • Jim Cummings as Peppy Hare
  • Ashleigh Ball as Miyu
  • Hynden Welch as Fay
  • Steve Blum as ROB 64
  • Maurice LaMarche as Wolf O'Donnell
  • Steve Buscemi as Leon Powlaski
  • Mark Hamill as Andrew Oikonny
  • Antonio Banderas as Panther Caroso
  • Patrick Stewart as General Pepper
  • Danny DeVito as Beltino Toad
  • S. Scott Bullock as Pigma Dengar
Another idea I have is Miyamoto High, the coming of age tale of eleven friends based off of video game characters in high school. The main characters are as followed:

Larry Inkus, based off of Link. An expert athlete and an adventurous fellow, Larry will stop at nothing but to enjoy life.

Parry Charles Manning, based off of Pac-Man. Larry's best friend who loves him some food, specifically berries.

Samantha Ron, based off of Samus Aran. An independent and intelligent lass who is Larry's primary love interest.

Sonny Issacs, based off of Sonic the Hedgehog. The school jock and a member of Larry's gang. He may be arrogant, but he cares for his friends.

Rocky "Mega" Manning, based off of Mega Man. Parry's younger brother who has an interest in robots.

Clayton Loudman, based off of Cloud. A lone wolf who relies on his cardboard sword, which he names Buster, for defense.

Marcus Ion, based off of Mario. A brave but sometimes impulsive guy who is a member of the drama club and always participates in school plays, especially ones with dragons and princesses.

Sylvester Cooper, based off of Sly Cooper. A thieving man who is often seen dealing his treasures to other people at recess.

Keenan Bart Ivry, based off of Kirby. The gang's cutie pie who has a lot in common with Parry.

Spike Yolande, based off of Spyro the Dragon. The son of a firefighter who's friends with Carl Bandson.

Carl Bandson, based off of Crash Bandicoot. Spike's eco-geek best friend who loves smashing crates.

Well, I think I'm cured so see you next time.

That New Chair Smell

My dad recently got a new chair while his trademark one of old will be placed in the office. It was delivered on Saturday from the same company as the old one, La-Z Boy. The old chair actually belonged to Dad's grandpa before it was passed down to the latter. I spent part of the whole Sunday playing Kingdom Hearts 2 on the new chair, pulverizing the likes of Captain Barbossa in Port Royal, the Volcanic and Blizzard Lords in Agrabah, Oogie Boogie in Christmas Town, Scar in the Pride Lands, that army of Nobodies during the return trip to Twilight Town until finally stopping in Space Paranoids.

I have to say, KH2 is my favorite game in the series because of the memorable bosses, wide selection of worlds including the Land of Dragons & Beast's Castle and I also completed two of the songs in Atlantica and returned two Torn Pages to my favorite world in Kingdom Hearts, the Hundred Acre Wood. I'm starting to get better at the game by massacring some impossible bosses like Halloween Town's Prison Keeper, the Hyenas and said Nobody army in Twilight Town. All it took for the last two I mentioned was the Circle of Life Keyblade that I received after talking to Simba in the Oasis.

But I'm wasting time here. See ya!

March Madness

There are four different basketball games going on in March because like the Super Bowl in February, the heyday of basketball is March Madness. On the channel I'm watching, NC State is creaming St Louis 12 to 5. On CBS, Texas has 7 while Arizona State has 11. On TBS, St Joe has 10 while UCONN has 7. On truTV, 12 to 5 again this time with North Dakota State against Oklahoma. And finally on NCAA, Oregon beats BYU 87 to 68. Another thing is that American University lost to University of Wisconsin 35 to 75.

University of Dayton won against Ohio State this afternoon which was apparently a big deal.

This is getting really confusing as there are many games playing and I can't keep track. So please someone tell me who won when this is done.

Good Grief!

Today, the teaser trailer for the upcoming big screen adaptation based of my favorite comic strip Peanuts has been released. It will be created by Blue Sky Studios who also made the Ice Age movies, Rio and Epic as a CGI animated film with a modern 2D look. The trailer starts with Snoopy goofing off while Charlie Brown tries to say something about the movie, eventually with our favorite blockhead facepalming and Snoopy giving him a hug. I gotta say, out of all the animated films for 2015 like Ratchet and Clank, SpongeBob Squarepants 2 and Sony Pictures Animation's Popeye, I'm really excited for this. Not only will it not be updated for a modern audience, it will be written by Sparky Schulz's son Craig and grandson Bryan. It will be released November 6 next year coinciding with the 65th anniverseray of the comic strip and the 50th anniverseray of A Charlie Brown Christmas.

Here is the link to the video I found: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1FNL_iIp5c. Another thing I would like to say is that Snoopy's collar is merchandising red, instead of usual black like in the TV specials and comics. Hopefully they won't shoehorn MetLife in.

St Patrick's Day

First of all, I want to give a shout out to my Uncle John.  He gets annoyed when his nieces and nephews don't talk to him.  I'll always talk to Uncle John, unless he's tickling me. Then I'll just try to escape.

We didn't have corned beef and cabbage tonight. Mom had yoga, so she didn't want to cook. She made corned beef and cabbage on Saturday night, and Grandma came over for dinner. I didn't have corned beef because it's gross. I had pancakes. I also don't like mashed potatoes or cabbage, so I had an apple.

Right now, Dad is watching Superman II, which was made in 1980. This explains the ridiculous special effects. "Kneel before Zod!!" Ha ha. Best line in the movie. Why are they showing Superman II on St Patrick's Day? The only connection I can come up with is that kryptonite is green? I don't know. I think it would make more sense if they showed that Green Lantern movie starring Ryan Reynolds on St. Patrick's Day.

A Happy Place

I've been working on calming down when I get upset. I'm supposed to practice visualizing a happy place when I start to have a meltdown.  The happy place can change depending on what I like at that time.

Right now, my happy place would be --

in my favorite man cave, with all my favorite books, dvds and things,
filled with delicious cheeseburgers and Reese's ice cream sandwiches,
smell like freshly popped movie popcorn,
all my stuffed animal guys would be there,
it would sound like waves of Lake Michigan, with a side of people eating cheeseburgers.

Now I'm thinking so much about cheeseburgers that my mom looks like a cheeseburger. I wonder what she'd think if I took a bite out of her arm?

I tried it, she just looked at me funny.

Sick of Snow

This weather has been going on forever, I want spring now! Not only do I constantly get my socks wet, but I also once stepped in slush causing both my sock and shoe to be soaked.

I think this snow started back in November last year, when it started getting really cold and there were a ton of blizzards and snowmageddons. It was the perfect time for snowmen, snowball fights, snow angels and much more. I once tried a snow angel once let's say January, I even got trapped in my own creation and couldn't get up without burying my hands. So Dad had to go and free me, after taking a picture first.

It's already March and it's getting repetitive. If this continues on, we might never get summer, the most wonderful season of the year. Might as well open Davey Jones' Locker and maybe the passed pirates can convince Mother Nature and God to stop this.
