Can't Wait!

I am highly anticipating Dreamworks Animation's latest feature film Mr. Peabody and Sherman, based on Ted Key's Peabody's Improbable History segments from The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show. Speaking of moose and squirrel, before the movie would begin, there would be an animated short starring the duo with June Foray reprising her role as Rocky and famous TV actor Tom Kenny who is most known for being Spongebob as Bullwinkle. It'll be a possible test for a feature film starring them.

In the voice acting, Ty Burrell who will also play Jean Pierre Napoleon in another March flick Muppets Most Wanted will be voicing the first half of our title characters Mr. Peabody. Fun fact is that Robert Downey Jr., or who may know in the cinemas as Iron Man was supposed to play this intelligent Man's Best Friend but was replaced by Burrell in early 2012. Max Charles who played young Peter Parker in The Amazing Spiderman will play his adopted son Sherman. Ariel Winter, most known on television as Alex Dunphy in Modern Family, Marina the Mermaid from Jake and the Neverland Pirates and Sofia the First in...well Sofia the First will play Penny, Sherman's classmate who travels with the genius mutt/male youngling duo through time in the movie.

Y'know there are a lot of voice actors I know in this such as Patrick Warburton, who is best known as Joe from Family Guy and a wabillion others, Mel Brooks who directed my favorite of his movies Spaceballs, Zach Callison who also plays the title character in Cartoon Network's Steven Universe, everyone's favorite political talkshow host Stephen Colbert and much more.

Overall, I'm excited for this one. Maybe even more than The Lego Movie. Speaking of movies about building stuff, Bugs Bunny be making a Minecraft movie! So get ready fanbase. Plus, I heard there's going to be a Postman Pat movie featuring the Tenth Doctor and Ron Weasly.

Fox News says what?

Fox News says the Lego Movie is bad for kids because it is anti-business.

http://www.geekosystem.com/fox-news-hates-lego/

They said the same thing about The Muppets and The Lorax. Is there any movie that Fox won't attack?

I think this is ridiculous. The Lego Movie is set up as a story within a story. There is the Lego story of the evil Lord Business trying to crazy glue all of legoland together to keep everything in place and tidy, and there is the frame story of the kid playing with his dad's legos. The kid wants to be creative and the dad wants everything to be in place.

Isn't that the point of creativity? Making news things and breaking some rules? Steve Jobs was one of the greatest business men ever, and he did it by being creative and breaking rules.

I don't know what grown ups want sometimes. When you are a kid and are in school, it's all "obey the rules! Don't color outside the lines!" But then you look at the rest of the world and it's all "think outside the box! Be creative!" Even John McCain was supposed to be a "maverick." Yuck. So confusing.

Also, if the Lego Movie is anti-business, but the Lego Corp is a giant business -- pretty ironic, right?

Miserable Mondays

Mondays are miserable. Going back to school after the weekend is HARD. It's not just hard, it's ABYSMAL.

These are the bad things from today:

My mom says I'm being whiny
I didn't have my math homework
Dad is spending a week in Los Angeles
It's going to be cold this week
The American mens hockey team didn't get an Olympic medal
Canada is a bunch of glory hogs
People keep calling Chicago Chiberia and I find that annoying

Mom asked me if there were any good things from today, but I said NOTHING. Everything is irredeemable.

OKay, minorly good things --

Lou Malnati's pizza for dinner.

SIIIICK

Well then, when I went to bed last night I had a scratchy throat, a schnoogy nose, and my forehead hurt.  This morning, my forehead still hurt and my throat was still scratchy. I'm thinking -- A COLD.

Today was mom and dad's anniversary of their wedding. Mom made Italian beef for dinner and then we got Culver's ice cream sundaes for dessert. I had a hot fudge sundae with Reese's peanut butter cups on top. Yum.

Mom says I seem recovered enough that it is back to school for me tomorrow. My response is "meh." I hope I can survive this week.

Ed Debevic's Review

Last night, me and Mom and Dad and Jack went downtown to dinner at a restaurant called Ed Debevic's.  Mom wanted to go there because it was where she and Dad had their first date, 26 years ago yesterday. Though they went to Ed Debevic's that was in Deerfield. That one is closed, so we had to go downtown. I was not thrilled about going, but mom told us all to humor her.

Ed Debevic's was good, but VERY LOUD. The music was super loud, and twice while we were there, the music got LOUDER and the waitresses got up and danced on the counter. That was kind of funny. They danced to YMCA -- it was okay. That rhymes "they were okay, YMCA!" I even made up a little tune for that. Too bad you can't hear me singing.

I ordered a cheeseburger. It was good, but it took FOREVER for the food to get out to us. For dessert we all had one of the "World's Smallest Hot Fudge Sundae." It was a teeny little sundae in a teeny little glass. We got to take the glasses home.

The waitress kept calling us jerks. Are we jerks? Maybe in a good way? Mom says that is the Ed's gimmick. The waitresses are fake mean.

I am glad Mom and Dad ate at Ed's 26 years ago because they got married and had me and Jack. However, I didn't appreciate all the hugging and kissing that was going on.  I made fake throw up noises, but they just rolled their eyes.

My top 10 most wanted characters for Super Smash Bros for Wii U/3DS

With such fan-favorite characters made into fighters like Little Mac and Rosalina, we gotta get what we want sometimes, right? Well, that will happen today as I list my top 10 most wanted characters for Super Smash Bros Wii U/3DS. Mr. Sakurai, this is for you. Now let's get started, yaaaaaay!

10. Dr. Eggman
Trust me when I say this, these games need more villains. And who better to turn to than the one and only Dr. Eggman Julian Ivo Robotnik (that's what I like to call him). He could have a moveset that's a variety of other characters like Zero Suit Samus' laser gun, Villager's bomb and many others. And what would his Final Smash be? I'd say the old favorite Death Egg Robot. Well, let's see what my other 9 picks have in store.

9. Waddle Dee
Say what you will about this guy. "What? A basic Kirby enemy in Smash Bros? He could easily be an assist trophy!" Well to that I say heck yes! The playable character, not the assist trophy. People can remember his role in Kirby's Return to Dreamland as another playable character alongside fellow Smashers Kirby, Dedede and Meta Knight. Well, we'll just have to wait and see.

8. Mickey and Oswald
That's right, the brotherly mascots of Disney themselves might be line to appear. Now the reason it isn't higher even though Epic Mickey and several other Mickey Mouse games were released on Nintendo consoles, Disney can be pretty grumpy when it comes to licensing. I mean, they got Bowser in Wreck-It Ralph, but no sign of Jumpman himself! Speaking of which............

7. Wreck-It Ralph
He's a video game character. He's got giant fisticuffs that would fit into fighting games, but like I said before Disney can get mad when it comes to licensing. Well, best get on with it.

6. Waluigi
The reason why Waluigi is on this list is for completion. We can't have Mario without Luigi, Sonic without Tails, Donkey Kong without Diddy Kong or Mega Man without Rush and Roll. In fact, there was supposed to be a warui Peach in Waluigi's debut game Mario Tennis, but that got scrapped immediately. Anyway, on with the list!

5. Bowser Jr and the Koopalings
Oh yeah! These turtle twerps have to be in the next Smash Bros! The reason why they aren't seperate is because of Papa Bowser.....or would be Papa Bowser if Nintendo said they weren't his kids. I wonder where they came from......oh well. With these brats making their Grand Prix debut in the upcoming Mario Kart 8, we'll probably hope for the best.

4. Proto Man
Just like how Luigi is Mario's bro, DLN0 here is the first robot created by Dr. Light and Wily before Wily would betray his colleague, steal and reprogram his robots and try to take over the world! Luckily, I think Proto Man would be a Mega Man clone with a few tweaks such as his shield.

3. Dixie Kong and Cranky Kong
With Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze coming out, these two apes are just a one-hit kill into the ring. I'll also give King K. Rool an honorable mention here because hey, villains.

2. Ridley
Now I know what you're thinking, he's too stinking big to fight. Well, if Nintendo resized him like Bowser, then you can stop complaining. This guy is one of my all-time favorite video game bad guys despite never playing any of the Metroid games.

And now, the moment you've all been waiting for!

1. Krystal
What? Smash needed more Star Fox characters that WEREN'T clones!

Now for some honorable mentions before I go.

Zoroark, Ghiriham, Ninja Turtles, the Simpsons, Kalos Trainer and Wonder Red. See ya!

Lego Movie Review

I am going to try to make this review SPOILER FREE!

I enjoyed the Lego Movie a lot. Now that that's out of the way, let's see if it is awesome as it was advertised or as bad as losing an important piece of a Lego set.

First off, the story. Critics and people say that it's the most imaginative (no pun intended) film since Toy Story. For me, I'd have to agree. Although the whole "zero to hero" thing has been done a few times with the only other animated feature I've seen doing that was Disney's Hercules, WB, Village Roadshow and the guys behind Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, take it to a whole new level!
In all the different places that our heroes go to such as the Old West and Cloud Cuckoo Land, each have a different story to them. I won't give anything away but they are really enjoyable and just make you wanna go back there, like the Fix-It Felix game from Wreck-It Ralph or Destiny Islands from Kingdom Hearts. Overall, the story is very well done, even for a Lego movie, in which you can make your own settings, characters and adventures.

Next, the animation. It is very original, innovative and good. For example, Bricksburg, home to our main character Emmet gives us a mix of New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco with a lot of different buildings and even some of the people living there have their own charm. The Old West seems to be reminiscent of many western movies such as Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Blazing Saddles and The Lone Ranger, which I might give it a watch because it's Johnny Depp. Cloud Cuckoo Land is very colorful and reminds people of many little girl cartoons with its cutesy architecture and weird people. The rest I don't have time to explain like the Octan Tower.

The characters are very likable and colorful. First there's Emmet, an ordinary guy who lives his life following the instructions. Like many other nobodies in film, he has his own charm which makes him a good character to root for.
Wyldstyle or Lucy before the film was even released, a tech-savvy fighter Master Builder is a good love interest for both Emmet and Batman. Speaking of which.........
I think the reason why everyone thinks this film is well "awesome" because of the various cameos, most notably the Dark Knight himself, Batman. Like I said, he's Wyldstyle's boyfriend throughout most of the film until the end, which I won't give away because what I said earlier.
Vitruvius doesn't seem that important other than progressing the story and spouting out the prophecy a few times. Although Morgan Freeman does a good job.
Unikitty is my favorite character in this because of her cuteness. She just makes me......HNNGH!
Benny, being a mini fig from the 80s have extreme knowledge on 80s technology which makes him a great comic relief.
Metalbeard is the coolest out of all the main characters because of his design and backstory. Besides, he's a pirate and pirates are awesome.
Finally, Lord President Business who makes a great Lego bad guy to be along the likes of Lord Garmadon and the Brickster. He also seems to be a fan of tacos since his evil plot in the film centers around Taco Tuesday.

Overall, the film is just awesome! The story is fantastic, the animation is extraordinary and the characters are just lovable. I would've had time to explain Bad/Good Cop but hey, you can't waste time on a review. My favorite scene would have to be Emmet's life in Bricksburg, I mean I would love to watch a show about pants jokes. Anyway, my recommendations: Lego fan or not, this film is just awesome!

Mental breakdown commence

I CAN'T EVEN TAKE IT ANYMORE! WHY DOES EVERYONE FIND A WAY TO MAKE ME EXTREMELY MISERABLE UP TO THE POINT OF ME HAVING A MELTDOWN JUST SO THEY CAN LOOK AND LAUGH!?

I....just don't want to go to school anymore. It's the same thing everyday. Wake up, go to school, be  hated by all, go home, cry my sorrows out, rinse and repeat. Be advised that this was supposed to be a review of The Lego Movie but I thought I don't have any time so it's on hold until further notice. I mean, what's the point of sharing your thoughts anyway? If you have a dad who thought South Park, Aqua Team Hunger Force or Robot Chicken is good for kids just because they either have other kids in it, anthropomorphic fast food products or parodies things you like, then just forget about it.

Just let me have peace right now. Also, there's another thing I'd like to rant about: children's television from Japan. For example, the banned Pokemon episodes specifically Secret of Dratini and Holiday Hi-Jynx. Dratini for example, had GUNS! Not bazookas, laser blasters or anything cartoony and weaponized, just normal handguns. Y'know, for kids!  Thankfully, as of the Virtual Console release of Pokemon Snap, Jynx is now permanetly colored purple and her lips were smaller. And then there are some moments in a favorite show of mine, Sonic X, where our title character would curse.....complete with subtitles! Even in front of a 6 year old little girl wabbit for crying out loud. Because kids love them some Pocket Monsters and blue hedgehogs in Santa colored running shoes swearin' like the kids after seeing the first Henson Ninja Turtles movie.

If you'll excuse me, I'm gonna watch me some Olympic ice skating.

Olympics!

The winter Olympics started on TV tonight. The Olympics are taking place in a town called Sochi, Russia. Sochi is actually a seaside resort town and they had to bring in snow machines from Finland to make winter conditions for the Olympics. I want to go someplace warm. Why can't we go to Sochi?

Mom says she has read about too many problems in Sochi. She said she's seen pictures of brown water coming out of the faucets. Hotels have no lobbies and no curtains. And you can't flush your toilet paper. Ew!

We are watching the skating team competition right now. The Russian got a great score, the American got a BAD score, and the Canadian got a good score. The poor American skater guy cried because he felt bad about his score. He lost for America! I wish America good luck in the rest of the events.
